Nagam Janardhan Reddy, Telangana TDP forum convenor

KCR has signalled support to the Congress. How do you see this?

When he launched his party, KCR said the Congress was the main enemy of Telangana. Now he is colluding with the Congress and slinging mud at the TDP and Chandrababu Naidu. This is pre-planned.

KCR has said he is out to weaken the TDP in Telangana.

I wonder how he can sail with the Congress. It was the Congress which has ditched the people of Telangana. Telangana merged with Andhra against the recommendations of the Fazal Ali Commission report. Congress was responsible for the deaths of 369 students in 1969. It was the Congress which diluted the mulki rules in 1972.

There is a view that the Telangana movement is slipping out of KCR’s hands. Do you agree?

It is the people who are leading the movement. Rao is only trying to encash it. He has never revealed his real intentions and no one knows what’s in his mind. KCR has never led the movement.

Do you mean that he is diluting the movement?

People are slowly losing confidence in him and TRS. First, he declared he would strengthen the Congress. Later, he said he would support the Congress in Parliament on the T-Bill.

But KCR says this is all part of a political strategy.

Is keeping the Telangana people’s self-respect at the feet of Delhi Congress leaders any political strategy? No one can accept KCR’s decision.

KCR says achieving Telangana is his life-time goal. He wants to give one month’s time to the Centre after Dec. 31. How do you see this?

The first thing I want to know from KCR is that whether he will give the Centre one month’s time even if the Srikrishna Committee gives a report against separate Telangana. I think KCR does not want Telagana. KCR is trying to drag the issue till the 2014 elections for his political survival. If Telangana is created before the next elections, the TRS, which has only 11 MLAs, will disappear from the region.
