TDP blacklists TRS, YSRC channels, papers

HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam has decided to boycott media organisations owned by the YSR Congress party and the TRS.

A decision to this effect was taken at a TDP Media Watch Committee meeting here on Saturday.

Accordingly, TDP leaders will boycott Sakshi TV, T News Channel, Sakshi daily and Namaste Telangana daily.

"TDP leaders will not participate in debates on the TV channels and will not share any information with reporters of these organisations," a TDP leader said.

Sources said, several TDP leaders including K Srihari, A Revanth Reddy, E Dayakar Rao and Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy complained to party chief N Chandrababu Naidu that Jagan's and TRS' media was spreading false news against TDP.

They also pointed out that Sakshi daily devoted one page exclusively to spread disinformation against the TDP.

It may be recalled that the TDP chief had constituted a media watch committee to analyse the news being published in various newspapers and aired by TV news channels. The committee meets every Saturday. At Saturday's meeting, TDP leaders complained to Naidu that distorted news against TDP was rampant in the two dailies and two channels.

Agreeing with them, Naidu directed TD leaders not to participate in debates on Sakshi and T News. He also advised them against giving interviews to the two channels.

Naidu wanted party leaders not to share any information with Sakshi and Namaste Telangana dailies.
