HYDERABAD: Drawing inspiration from US president Barack Obama and social activist Anna Hazare, Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu has decided to form a network of youth to popularise his party. As youth are mostly using computers nowadays, Naidu wants them to spend at least half an hour to discuss among themselves the problems the country is facing.

For this, the party has started enrolling youth under Telugu Sanketika Nipunula Vibhagam (TSNV), the party's wing of IT and other professionals. "I have decided to form a social network with youth. My ideas on how to make the country corruption-free and number one in the world will be sent to you. You discuss among yourselves through network and give me better ideas. It will help in making the country strong," Naidu exhorted the youth after inducting the new committee of TSNV.

Naidu said use of Facebook, Twitter and other networks was popular now. "In the recent times, the network is a powerful tool to campaign against corruption. Lakhs of youth from Kashmir to Kanyakumari supported Anna Hazare. The social network sites played a significant role in pulling down several governments in the world. Barack Obama won because of network," Naidu said while stressing the need for digital media on current politics.

"I decided to use digital media too in the coming days. But, I am not using it to regain power. I have already served as chief minister for nine years and as an opposition leader for eight years. No one can beat my record at least for another 20 years. I wish to see the emergence of a strong India and I therefore urge the youth to use network for the sake of the country," he said.

“A majority of youth are against corruption and supported anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare. At the same time, some youths are supporting leaders like Gali Janardhan Reddy and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. It is very dangerous to appreciate such leaders. Know the facts and denounce such leaders," he appealed to youth.

“Corruption is like cancer and it will ruin the society. Youth should work hard and should not look for short-cut methods to reach the top. YS Rajasekhara Reddy used short-cut methods and amassed huge wealth. As a result, officers associated with him landed in jail," Naidu said.
