TG Genco, Transco Created, to be Functional from June 2

HYDERABAD:  Transco and Genco are created for the Telangana state on Thursday and they will start functioning from June. Accordingly, the assets, liablities, staff and coal blocks are allocated to TG Transco and TG Genco.
 Orders to this effect were issued on Thursday. Effective date for Transfer of functions, assets, liability, posts and staff: is June 2. All the functions presently being carried out by AP TRANSCO in the area of Telangana State shall stand transferred to TG TRANSCO. For Telangana state, separate power purchase committee will also be set up.
  Likewise, all the functions presently being carried out by APGENCO in the area of Telangana State shall stand transferred to TG GENCO from June 2.

ALLOTMENT OF COAL BLOCKS:  The allotment has been done after taking into account end
use projects.

SARPALNAUPARA - 280 - 1X800 MW unit at Srikakulam and 1X800 MW unit at  Kakatiya Thermal
Power Project, Stage-III   - 140   - 140
Of the total 475 million tonnes of 215 tonnes will be reserved for AP and 260 million tonnes will be allotted to Telangana.

Nuagon Telishhi: Mineable Reserves are 450 million tonnes and end use projects are identified as 3x800 MW Units at Srikakulam and 5x800 MW Units at Vodarevu at the time of allocation. The said units are not yet grounded and hence, the mineable reserves may be allocated to both the States as per the ratio 58.32:41.68 to APGENCO & TG GENCO to both the States and necessary request may be made to the Ministry of Coal for change of end use projects by the successor entities, said the orders issued on Thursday by spepcial chief secretary (Energy) SK Joshi
