TD cadres get `thumbing' access to party honchos

Conveying their opinions to party bigwigs is now just thumbs' play for Telugu Desam cadres.
They can SMS the high command on various issues. The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has come forward with an exclusive package through which TDP workers and sympathisers can take BSNL mobile connection. Apart from attractive mobile phone charges, services like voice poll, teleconference and others are also on offer.
This will enable the party to elicit the cadres' views before finalising policy. TDP workers can also participate in SMS polls requiring ``yes'' or ``no'' options on any particular issue.
If the district and Assembly constituency in-charges intimate in advance to party headquarters, the party can arrange teleconference facility for 50 phones.
The SMS or voice mail opinions can be transmitted from village to district level. For its part, the party will send SMSes communicating the latest decisions.
An information centre has been set up at the NTR Bhavan for two-way communication with village, mandal, Assembly segment and district level leaders.
TDP will also store information related to party policy on various issues. Select speeches of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu have also been placed on voice mail. Party cadre may dial 040-23359999 to hear the speeches.
