HYDERABAD: The talks between Telangana Rashtra Samithi and Telugu Desam Party are likely to resume on January 27, once the TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu returns to the city from his north coastal Andhra tour.
TRS leader and former minister N Narasimha Reddy told reporters today that both TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and TDP chief Naidu would have one-on-one talks very soon. Both the leaders would finalise the seat-sharing issue, he said.
Currently there were no talks between TRS and TDP as far as seat-sharing was concerned, after the TRS deferred its decision to join the TDP led grand alliance on January 21.
“There is a lot of time to discuss the seatsharing issue. Election notification too was not issued. There is no hurry to finalise the alliance right now,” Narasimha Reddy said.
He, however, hinted everything would be settled amicably soon. He said that presidents of both the parties could talk and finalise the alliance issue.
According to TDP sources, Naidu would return to city tomorrow night from Visakhapatnam.
Both Rao and Naidu may have talks either tomorrow or the day after.
After the TRS member G Jagadiswar Reddy skipped the sub-committee of grand alliance recently, TRS leader Narasimha Reddy joined the TDP-Left combine to submit a memorandum to Home Minister today.
Both the parties are likely to reach an agreement on Council polls. The last date for filing of nominations for elections to 11 Legislative Council seats under MLAs quota is January 27. The TDP can win two seats on its own and seeking the help of TRS, CPM and CPI to win the third seat. However, the TRS leadership insisting that the third seat should be left to the party, as the its member recently resigned.
There were seven MLAs for TRS, nine for CPM and six for CPI and the TDP had 43 MLAs. TDP expecting the support of lone BSP MLA. Both Naidu and Rao would discuss and finalise the strategy for council elections.
