HYDERABAD: A round-table meeting of students, employees and people’s organisations called upon the Government employees to organise `pen-down’ strike on January 4 and 5 to echo the sentiments of Telangana people in Delhi in the wake of Centre’s talks with political parties on January 5.
The round-table meeting was chaired by Telangana NGOs Association president Swamy Goud.
The meeting called upon the people to organise `Palle satyagrahas’ in all the villages on Jan 4 and dharnas before all the mandal offices and district Collectorates on Jan 5.
The meeting appealed to the people to organise candlelight protests on the two major roads connecting Andhra and Rayalaseema with a request to the people of Andhra that: ``Let us divide in a peaceful manner’’.
TNGOs said that they have decided to organise pen down strike demanding that the political parties should represent the aspirations of Telangana people in Delhi on Jan 5. The Delhi meeting should evolve a roadmap for starting the process of Telangana. They also demanded that the State Government to lift all the cases against students as announced by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram.
