HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam MLAs from the Telangana region offered to resign from the Assembly if such an action can ensure creation of Telangana state.

Speaking to reporters here today, M Narasimhulu, A Revanth Reddy and others said that they would put in their papers if their counterparts in the ruling Congress and other parties did so. “We are not after posts or positions. Telangana is important to us,” they declared.

On Nagam Janardhan Reddy’s behaviour in the Assembly today, they said that as Nagam, TTDPF convener, wanted to become a hero and paint others as betrayers of Telangana. “When 600 students committed suicide Nagam was holding PAC meetings. First of all, he should resign from that post,” they demanded.

Narasimhulu accused Nagam of blackmailing other MLAs. “He is acting on his own without taking us into confidence.” At Saturday’s TTDPF meeting Nagam said that he would abide by the decision of the forum and attend the meeting, Narasimhulu said and wondered why he acted against the decision of all T-MLAs.

Wondering why Nagam never uttered a word against Union minister S Jaipal Reddy, Revanth Reddy demanded an explanation from Nagam Janardhan Reddy.
