HYDERABAD: The Opposition TDP leaders from both Telangana and Andhra regions have expressed doubts over the Centre’s five-member committee on Telangana.

While, the Telangana leaders doubted whether the committee was intended to delay the process, the Andhra leaders felt that the Committee was to divide the State and o p p o s e d t h e same.

The Seemandhra leaders questioned the rationale behind announcing the committee without the approval of the Union Cabinet. TDP leaders D Uma Maheswara Rao and others said in Vijayawada how did the Centre constitute a committee without the nod of the Union Cabinet. However, they decided to intensify their agitation for United Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the TDP leaders like M Narasimhulu and N Janardhan Reddy felt that the Congress was trying to buy time. ``Announcing the committee is nothing but delaying the process of T formation,’’ they felt. However, the leaders said that they would make their stand clear only after the Centre announced the terms and references of the committee, which would be announced in a day or two.

The Telangana leaders demanded that the Centre should announce a timeframe for the committee.

They said that they would abide by any decision taken by the political JAC of the Telangana.

The future course of action would be decided in the JAC, they said.

Meanwhile, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu tried to be cautious saying that ``Telangana and Seemaandhra were his two eyes.’’ He refused to make a straight comment on the constitution of the committee. He said that TDP was enjoying good support from the people of both the regions and it would be continued in future too.
