Chief Secretaries for New States by June 1

HYDERABAD: Governor ESL Narasimhan directed chief secretary Mohanty on Friday to appoint two chief secretaries for the new states by June 1 in consultation with the chief ministers-designate K Chandrasekhar Rao Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu.
 TAXES: Meanwhile, the government issued a GO that the tax accrued from transactions during May 1-June 1 be credited to the Consolidated Fund of the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh. The share of the successor state of Telangana _ 41.68 per cent _ shall be apportioned by the residuary state of AP. Both the states may reconcile the payables and receivables after the appointed day.
 JUDICIARY: The High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad shall be the common High Court for the two states till a separate High Court for the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh is constituted under Article 214 of the Constitution and other provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act. The government has decided to continue the advocate- general, additional advocates- general, state public prosecutor and additional public prosecutors, government pleaders and the standing counsel, who have been appointed for AP, to appear on behalf of Telangana state too till appointments are made to the said posts by the respective state governments.
