“We took all the key decisions. The formal orders will be issued in due course,” a top official told Express.
“The division work is completed in a record time. This is a very complicated work and we have done it completely. Now, the formal orders will be issued for allocating the Secretariat and other buildings, HoDs etc,” the official said, adding all the decisions have been taken already. The Chief Secretary held a review meeting at the Secretariat on Thursday with all the secretaries over the progress of the division work.
“Normally, the State’s division work will take at least one year. But, we have completed it in just three months,” an official said.
The works from the State government side had been completed. Now, it is for the Central government to formalise the same. The division of All India Service (AIS) officers and state-cadre employees will be done by the Central government.
The AP Reorganisation Act received the President’s assent on March 1 and the Chief Secretary conducted his first meeting on March 4.
Then, he constituted around 22 committees and issued regular circulars, including a list of 95 tasks first. Later, another “Master GO” was issued by the Chief Secretary directing various departments to issue separate GOs for the division of the State as per the AP Reorganisation Act. He issued the Standard Operating Procedure in the GO. Several departments issued orders accordingly. Home Secretary Anil Goswami, who reviewed the progress recently, complimented the State government officials for completing the work in a record time.
According to sources, the Chief Secretary, at Thursday’s review, complimented special chief secretary (Planning) SP Tucker, who is heading the State Reorganisation Cell, and principal secretary (Finance) PV Ramesh for their hard work to complete the work as per the schedule. “Both Telangana and Seemandhra employees cooperated in the work,” the Chief Secretary reportedly said at the meeting.
IDFC to Apportion State’s Assets in Delhi to AP, T
Hyderabad: The IDFC Limited is likely to apportion the assets located in Delhi to the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Chief secretary PK Mohanty on Thursday constituted a panel to examine whether the services that can be offered by IDFC Ltd in apportioning the properties of the existing state of Andhra Pradesh to the successor states. The special chief secretary (planning) will be the chairman of the committee and the principal secretary (R&B) and principal secretary (industries) are members. The resident commissioner (AP Bhavan), Delhi will be the convener.
